Type 300-177

A Mid-Century Legend – Compact Design with a Unique Character

Designed by Józef Chierowski in the early 1960s, the Type 300-177 earned its affectionate nickname, „Bunny,” from its distinctive armrests that resemble long rabbit ears. Produced by the Świebodzice and Gościcino Furniture Factories, this armchair became a symbol of Polish modernism. Its design was a strategic „bullseye” during a time of post-war transformation; following a major fire at the GFM factory, there was a government-led push for lightweight, space-saving furniture tailored for modern, compact apartments. The „Bunny” perfectly filled this need, replacing heavy pre-war styles with its airy, functional silhouette and wide-set legs.

Each armchair is handcrafted to order, offering you the opportunity to customize the fabric, wood finish, and comfort level. Whether you are looking for a vibrant retro accent or a subtle classic piece, our bespoke personalization options ensure this historical icon fits perfectly into your contemporary home.
